ELLEN M. EAST

Ellen East is Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Time Warner Cable, Inc., where she provides strategic counsel on companywide public relations, corporate communications and industry affairs. Ms. East oversees a staff responsible for national media relations, issues management, product communication, public policy communication, employee and leadership communication, community relations and corporate philanthropy.

Ms. East joined Time Warner Cable in October 2007 from Cox Communications, Inc., where she served as Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs. Prior, Ms. East was Assistant City Editor for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and a reporter and editor at a number of daily newspapers.

Ms. East serves as co-chair of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association’s Public Affairs committee, and is a member of the boards of the T. Howard Foundation and the Families and Work Institute. She has served as chair of the national board of directors for Women in Cable Telecommunications and as President of the Cable Television Public Affairs Association (now the Association of Cable Communicators). She was a fellow in the 2001 class of WICT’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, and subsequently served as chair of that program.

Ms. East has been the recipient of numerous industry awards, including the 2002 NCTA Vanguard Award for Young Leadership. She has been honored as a “Woman to Watch” and a “Wonder Woman” by Women in Cable Telecommunications, and received a “Rainmaker” award from CTAM. She has received two Silver Anvil Awards for issues management and integrated communications from the Public Relations Society of America.

Ms. East graduated from the University of Alabama in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in news-editorial journalism.

CAROL HEVEY

Carol Hevey has served as Executive Vice President for Time Warner Cable’s East Region since the fall of 2009. In her current role, she has responsibility for cable operations serving 5.9 million residential video and commercial, high-speed data, digital phone and wireless customers in the Company’s operations in the east. Carol was instrumental in creating a regional operating structure for the Company to better serve the region’s customers and 17,000 employees.

She has served in a variety of operations roles for Time Warner Cable during her 29 years in the cable industry, including Executive Vice President of Time Warner Cable’s Carolina Region from 2004-2009. Prior to her appointment to Executive Vice President, she was President of Time Warner Cable’s Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Portland, Maine; and Boston, Massachusetts divisions. Throughout her career, she has led organizations to achieve outstanding results through a focus on growth, customer service and employee satisfaction.

In addition to her operating responsibilities, Carol founded and chairs Time Warner Cable’s Diversity Council and Time Warner Cable’s Women’s Leadership Council. These councils serve in advisory capacities to TWC senior leadership and are engaged in a variety of diversity and inclusion initiatives across the company, including communications, education, advocacy, leadership development and employee networking.

A native of Ohio, Carol attended Purdue University and the University of Pittsburgh. She is a member of the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT), and the National Association of Minorities in Cable (NAMIC). She serves on the board of directors of Charlotte Center City Partners, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and Central Piedmont Community College Foundation. She is the 2011 chairperson of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Campaign in Charlotte. Carol is also on the board of advisors for the Charlotte Area YWCA and the North Carolina Governor’s Conference for Women. Carol has received several Company and industry awards, including the 2011 Vanguard Award for Cable Operations Management, being named to the 2010 Charlotte USA 20: Celebrating Dynamic Women list, 2010 Charlotte Business Woman of the Year by Queens University of Charlotte and is a past winner of the most Powerful Women in Cable by Cable Fax Magazine and Multichannel News’ Wonder Women awards.
SANDRA K. HOWE
SVP, STRATEGIC MARKET DEVELOPMENT
ARRIS

Sandra Howe’s responsibilities as SVP of Strategic Market Development at ARRIS are
focused on the strategic initiatives of North American Cable Operators. She assists the
Product Development and Sales Teams to help cable operators continue to grow through
the launch of new technologies and products including DOCSIS 3.0, MPEG-4 Advanced
Video Coding, IP Video Targeted Ad Insertion, advanced transport networks, innovative
network monitoring tools, Hybrid Video Gateways, IP settops, wireless networks and
data and voice cable modems. She coordinates long range product and business strategy
for North American Operators within ARRIS and regularly consults with senior staff at a
number of major MSOs.


Prior to ARRIS, Howe worked in several positions for 10 years at Cisco (and the former
Scientific Atlanta organization) supporting the company’s largest customer, Time Warner
Cable. During this time, Howe served in various roles including Director of Business
Development, Strategic Account Markets Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Senior
Account Manager. Howe helped Time Warner Cable launch many new technologies
including switched digital video (SDV), Digital Simulcast, digital video recorder (DVR),
high-definition (HD) set-tops, high speed data and voice cable modems.

Prior to joining Cisco/Scientific Atlanta in 1999, Howe served as Regional Account
Executive for Broadband Networks Inc. in State College, PA, helping various cable
operators deploy specialized voice, video and data networks. Howe currently serves on
the National Board of Directors of Women in Cable Telecommunications and is a
graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. She is a regular speaker at industry
conferences and is the recipient of numerous awards, including CableFAX’ Top Women
in Technology and Multichannel News’ Women to Watch.
TITO LEVERETTE

MICROSOFT'S DEVELOPER & PLATFORM EVANGELISN ORGANIZATION

Tito guides content providers across entertainment, sports, television, and publishing on using Microsoft technology to reach their audiences.  Tito is responsible for leveraging business relationships to bring content to Microsoft’s consumer facing platforms including Windows, Windows Phone and XBOX.  Tito describes his role as a cross between business development and technology evangelism.  Prior to his current role, Tito spent several years in the Cloud Services space in both engineering and business roles.

JOE MARCHESE
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, DIGITAL & MARKETING STRATEGY

Joe Marchese is the senior vice president of digital & marketing strategy for Fuse. He plays a key role in continuing Fuse's music focused strategy, leads the company’s efforts to build a strong community of music fans and drives its multiplatform strategy and development.

Before joining Fuse, Mr. Marchese was the co-founder and president of SocialVibe and SVnetwork, a digital advertising technology company that allows brands to reach and engage people within social media. While at SocialVibe, Mr. Marchese brought over 100 of the world’s top advertisers on board, including Microsoft, GE, Amex, Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Sony, and Disney. He also served as a weekly columnist for Mediapost, writing on the broad impact of digital media on the media landscape, as well as contributed to a number of other national publications as an expert on new media, including BusinessWeek, New York Post, and The Boston Globe.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Marchese built and ran an online media focused consulting group, which specialized in strategy development for digital publishing and advertising. He began his career as a business analyst at Monster Worldwide, the parent company of Monster.com.

Currently, Mr. Marchese serves on the Paley Center Advisory Board and the board of ClientRadius, a local tech start-up in Los Angeles. He has also keynoted various digital advertising and media summits including, OMMA, iMedia, and Digital Hollywood.

Mr. Marchese holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Finance from Bentley University.

CHARLON MCINTOSH

CHARLON MCINTOSH Charlon McIntosh is the Regional Vice President of Customer Care for Time Warner Cable’s East Region Business Class organization. In this role, Charlon is responsible for developing, facilitating and implementing strategies aimed at delivering a superior customer experience for Time Warner Cable’s commercial customers. Charlon is responsible for all aspects of customer care operations for Time Warner Cable Business Class customers in the Carolinas, the Northeast, and New York City.

Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Charlon was the Regional Vice President of Customer Service for Comcast’s Mile High region. With responsibility for overall customer service management for over 1 million customers, Charlon oversaw the region’s customer service operations, including 2 call centers and more than 1,000 customer service employees. Charlon’s cable experience also includes positions in business operations and regulatory finance. In 2009, Charlon was recognized as a “Woman to Watch” by the Rocky Mountain chapter of Women in Cable Television. In 2011, Charlon was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of the top “40 under 40” leaders in the Denver area. She has also been named as one of the Most Influential Minorities in Cable by Cablefax Magazine for the past 2 years.
JAMES ROLLINS

James Rollins serves as Director, Digital Video Distribution for the Affiliate Sales and Marketing department at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. In this role, James identifies and cultivates new technology opportunities with cable affiliates and drives the distribution of digital products and services on behalf of Disney and ESPN. This includes Video On-Demand, broadband services like ESPN3, and the latest TV Everywhere products from Disney and ESPN: WatchESPN and the WATCH Disney suite.

James has held various roles at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. As a Senior Account Manager, Digital Video Distribution, he projected managed the launch of WatchESPN and WATCH Disney with cable affiliates representing 40M U.S. cable households. And as an Account Executive, Field Sales; James was instrumental in the distribution of networks including ESPNU and the digital product, ESPN360.com.

Prior to his work in cable television, James was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy where he earned military decorations including two Navy Achievement Medals and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

James holds an MBA from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech. He is a graduate of the Navy Officer Candidate School and the Navy Supply Corps School.
RICH RUGGIERO
VICE PRESIDENT, PUBLIC RELATIONS

In this role, he works with market-level communications staff to execute the company’s external communications strategy for systems serving almost 6 million customers in New York, the Carolinas, and New England. Prior to joining Time Warner Cable in August 2011, he spent more than 11 years at Comcast in a variety of communications leadership roles in the Chicago and Detroit markets.

Ruggiero previously spent more than five years as part of the professional staff at United Way Community Services in Detroit, and has continued to support United Way in several volunteer leadership roles, most recently as Chair of the Northwest Suburban United Way Board of Directors and as a member of United Way Worldwide’s Membership Accountability Committee.

A native of New York City and a graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Ruggiero lives in Charlotte with his wife and their two-year-old twins.
AMINA RUNYAN-SHEFA

Amina Runyan-Shefa joined Time Warner’s Cable’s Corporate Strategy group in July of 2009 and became Vice President, Video Strategy in spring of 2012. Since joining Time Warner Cable, she has worked on several company-wide initiatives in local programming strategy, sports business development, CE device strategy, product development, and growth strategy for TWC’s video business.

Amina came to Time Warner Cable from NBC/ Universal, where she worked in the Corporate Strategy and Development group. There, she facilitated the development of the corporate strategy, evaluated venture capital opportunities for the Peacock Equity Fund, analyzed acquisition opportunities and worked with the Cable Entertainment group to develop new business opportunities and partnerships. Prior to NBCU, Amina worked at Universal Studios in feature film development and production and as a consultant at The Monitor Company both in the US and overseas.

Amina holds an undergraduate degree in History from Harvard College and in MBA from Columbia University. She serves on the Associate Board of City Year- New York. She is a native of Atlanta, GA and lives with her husband and son in NYC, NY.
NICOL TURNER-LEE, PH.D.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR MULTI-ETHNICITY IN COMMUNICATIONS (NAMIC)

NAMIC is the premier organization that educates, advocates and empowers for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry.  With a membership roster of more than 2,700 professionals from both the business and creative sides of the field, NAMIC prepares individuals from entry-level to the C-Suite, and every level in-between.

Prior to joining NAMIC, Dr. Turner-Lee was Vice President and the first Director of the Media and Technology Institute for the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, one of the nation’s leading research and public policy institutions whose work focuses on issues of concern to African Americans and other people of color. During her tenure, Dr. Turner-Lee created the first “National Minority Broadband Adoption Study” that has been cited by government, industry, and community based organizations interested in understanding minority Internet use.  Most notably, the study was cited in the Federal Communications Commission’s congressionally mandated National Broadband Plan, and the FCC’s subsequent report detailing the information needs of communities.

Prior to this, Dr. Turner-Lee was an executive at One Economy - a global nonprofit that uses the power of technology and information to expand opportunities for low-income people – serving most recently as Senior Vice President for External Affairs in charge of public relations, national strategic partnerships and business development.

In 2007, Broadband Properties Magazine named her to its list of the "Top 10 National Broadband Promoters." In 2011, she was appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee on Diversity in the Digital Age by the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. She was also honored in 2011 by the Alliance for Women in Media as one of their 60 most inspiring women in media. Earlier this year, Dr. Turner-Lee was also selected by Time Warner Cable as one of four participants in their signature Digital Research Program.

Dr. Turner-Lee serves on the board of directors for the Community Renewal Society, Minority Media and Telecommunications Council (MMTC), Telecommunications and Policy Research Conference (TPRC), and the Alliance for Women in Media. Dr. Turner-Lee is a former Research Fellow with Northwestern University's Asset-Based Community Development Institute, a Ford Foundation Rockwood Leadership Fellow, and has served as adjunct faculty at Northwestern and North Park Universities. She is also the author of several research and policy publications.

She graduated with honors from Colgate University, has a doctorate in Sociology from Northwestern University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
